SAVANNAH, Ga. — Buying and selling authentic Banana Ball tickets is about to get a lot easier and less expensive.
The Savannah Bananas on Monday announced plans to create a verified secondary ticket marketplace that will allow fans to resell verified, authentic tickets at face value, a move designed to combat inflated prices and fraud that have plagued the wildly popular exhibition baseball team.
Team founder Jesse Cole unveiled the initiative on Instagram, saying the system aims to protect fans from scalpers and fraudulent tickets that have flooded social media platforms and unauthorized resale sites as Banana Ball games have exploded in popularity and regularly sell out across the country.
