A "violent and controlling bully" has been found guilty of a serious assault that left his partner paralysed after subjecting her to nearly a decade of coercive and controlling behaviour. Robert Easom, formerly of Longridge Road, Chipping, was convicted at Preston Crown Court today, November 24, of section 18 wounding with intent.

He had previously admitted engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour between July 2017 and February 2025, along with two counts of actual bodily harm. According to evidence heard during the trial, Easom carried out a sustained pattern of emotional, psychological and physical abuse throughout the relationship.
