WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to victory over the Eagles Sunday in a showdown in which the player’s cleats carried a lifesaving message.
Prescott teamed up with Baylor Scott and White to promote early cancer screenings by wearing the message on his cleats during the annual “My Cause My Cleats” initiative.
My Cause My Cleats is a player-led initiative where players, coaches and staff wear custom-designed cleats to spotlight the causes and nonprofits they care about most.
Prescott’s mom, Peggy, passed away from colon cancer in 2013 when the player was just 20-years-old.
“This is so near to my heart after losing my mom to colon cancer,” Prescott said.
Prescott said he wants to remind people that early screenings can save your life.
