1Ocean County launches ‘Goal: Zero’ traffic crackdown to combat deadly crash surge
BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – Law enforcement agencies across Ocean County will deploy a coordinated high-visibility traffic safety detail this Wednesday as part of the Goal: Zero initiative, aimed at reducing fatal crashes amid a sharp rise in traffic deaths across New Jersey.
From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 26, officers will concentrate patrol efforts along major Jersey Shore corridors including Route 70 and Route 88. The enforcement detail is part of a broader campaign launched in response to sobering statistics: as of August 22, 355 people had died on New Jersey roads this year, with 38 of those deaths occurring in Ocean County alone.
