Lakers sign Gonzaga’s all-time leading scorer

The Los Angeles Lakers made a notable roster move Monday night, opening a spot by waiving forward Christian Koloko. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Lakers cleared the vacancy in order to sign former Gonzaga star Drew Timme to a two-way contract.

Timme had been playing with the South Bay Lakers, L.A.’s G League affiliate, but because he was not on a two-way deal, he was ineligible to suit up for the main roster. That barrier is now gone, and the Lakers moved quickly after Timme’s recent performances.
