The cast of Everybody Loves Raymond just reunited for a 30th anniversary special, but don’t expect them to get together for a reboot series in the future.

Ray Romano noted during the special that a reboot will never happen and there’s an emotional reason why it won’t ever come together.

“Let’s get one thing out of the way — this is a reunion,” Ray said.

Series creator Phil Rosenthal added, “Not a reboot.”

“We’re never going to do one, because we’re missing three castmembers, three family members. We’d never try to do the show without them,” Ray said.

Phil chimed in, “It wouldn’t be the same. We have too much respect for the show itself and for the beautiful audience. … And thankfully, the show is still on every day, all over the world.”
