The State Historical Society of Missouri has elected Robert M. Clayton III as its new president. He will serve a three-year term.
Clayton, a judge on the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District, has served as a trustee since 2013. He succeeds former U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, who will remain on the board as a trustee.
Clayton brings decades of public service experience, including an eight-year term in state House of Representatives and leadership of the Missouri Public Service Commission. He also played a role in creating Missouri's Historical Preservation Tax Credit.
