An investigation remains underway after a house explosion in Albuquerque sent one person to the hospital and left the community in shock.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue reported that the explosion occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, but New Mexico Gas has stated that no leaks were found, leaving questions about what went wrong.
Neighbors described the explosion as powerful, with one saying, "It not only blew from this side, but also from sideways as well. So all angles, it just blew up."
The explosion was felt miles away, according to those in the neighborhood who drove by what remains of the house on Monday afternoon.
Evan Armstrong, who lives across the street, said his house suffered damage, with shattered windows and a shift that left a gap between bricks and walls.
