BLOOMINGTON — For much of Indiana basketball coach Darian DeVries’ childhood in Aplington, Iowa , the city didn’t have a restaurant.

Stinky's Bar & Grill became an area hangout, but it didn’t open until long after he left for college.

The go-to family dinner every Sunday was either a takeout pizza from Casey’s, a convenience store chain based in Iowa, or a frozen Tombstone pizza if they were really in a hurry.
