SEBRING, Ohio - A mother from Sebring spoke at a school board meeting Monday evening to call on the district to change its policies in response to reported sexual assault or harassment on school grounds.
"Believe children. Act first. Investigate later. That's how we protect them all," the mother said in the public comment portion of the meeting.
The mother, who 21 News is not naming to protect the identity of her child, used her time to demand the school board vote to "always send immediate, anonymous notification" to parents whenever a child reports inappropriate sexual contact on school property — as her own son did less than a month ago, according to a police report reviewed by 21 News.
