A former MEP and a former town mayor are among the candidates who will battle it out for a vacant county council seat.
A by-election is set to be held next month due to the death of a dedicated councillor who loved serving her Lowestoft community.
Melanie Vigo di Gallidoro, who lived at Pakefield in Lowestoft, had served as the county councillor for Pakefield for more than eight years until she died last month aged 78.
She had been first elected to represent the Pakefield and Carlton Colville division at Suffolk County Council in May 2017 and was re-elected in 2021.
Leaders at Suffolk County Council expressed "deep sorrow" as they remembered Mrs Vigo di Gallidoro, describing her as a "much-loved colleague and friend."
