Rain will spread across New Jersey this afternoon and evening as a warm front approaches, bringing the first significant precipitation in several days.
The National Weather Service expects rainfall amounts between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch through Wednesday evening, with locally higher amounts up to 1 inch possible.
The rain is expected to arrive in northern New Jersey around 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, reaching the Interstate 95 corridor and southern portions of the state between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Moderate rainfall is likely Tuesday night as southerly winds increase to 20 to 25 mph.
Wednesday will start with continued showers before a cold front moves through during the late morning and early afternoon.
Temperatures will reach the lower 60s in many areas before the front
