Jamie Vardy and his wife Rebekah have fallen victim to a burglary at their new villa in Italy. The incident occurred over the weekend while Vardy was playing for Cremonese against AS Roma.
Reports indicate that three thieves broke into the couple's luxury home in Salo, which overlooks Lake Garda, making off with cash, jewellery, and watches. A police source revealed, "We think the gang have been watching him and his family and timed the break-in to coincide when he was away in Rome."
CCTV footage captured the individuals entering the property through an open window. They were reportedly on the premises for several minutes before escaping with high-value items. Notably, a babysitter was present in the house at the time, but Rebekah was not.
The Vardys relocated to Italy this summer after Jamie signed with Cremonese, following his departure from Leicester City. Their villa, valued at £2 million, has become a target for thieves during their absence.
Authorities are investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information to come forward. Updates on the situation are expected as the investigation unfolds.
