An Evansville police officer sustained injuries when he was hit by a car.
The officer was on a call about 8 p.m. Monday when he stopped to help another driver.
That’s when another car crossed a double yellow line and hit him.
Two more officers en route to the original call stopped the car.
Driver David Venture resisted.
Officers discovered Venture didn’t have a driver’s license and was undocumented.
He took a breath test, which allegedly came out nearly three times over the limit.
The injured officer is recovering at home.
