(Gray News) - Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is encouraging Americans traveling for the holidays to “dress a little better.”
Duffy encouraged travelers to dress “with some respect” while speaking at Newark Airport in New Jersey on Monday.
“Whether it’s a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better, which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let’s try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport. I think that’s positive,” he said.
Duffy also spoke about what to expect during the busy holiday travel season.
Duffy said that, according to AAA, about 73 million Americans will be traveling by car this week for Thanksgiving, with the busiest travel days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday.
