Chesnee won the SCHSL Class AAA state championship in competitive cheer with an overall score of 286.5 on Nov. 22 at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.
This marks Chesnee's sixth state championship, with the most recent title in 2024. The Eagles were runners-up in 2022 and 2023.
Here is how other Upstate teams fared in the competitive cheer state final:
Class AAA
Mid-Carolina came in second with 278.5 points. Three Upstate teams took the third through sixth spots, with Palmetto third with 266.5, followed by Belton-Honea Path (253.5) and Liberty (235.5) in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Chapman (235.5) was sixth, Powdersville (224) placed seventh, and Broome came in ninth (210). Mountain View Prep finished 11th (206), and Southside Christian finished 12th (196.5).
