A maze has been ripped out from a UK city park, as it was mainly being used “as a public toilet”. The hedgerow maze in Leazes Park, Newcastle city centre, has been cut down following complaints of anti-social behaviour.
Angry Newcastle City Council chiefs said the attraction had become an “eyesore”. The maze was designed and planted by schoolchildren as part of a 2004 revamp of the park. The space the maze occupies is now expected to undergo a makeover.
