Democrat Luis Salazar has earned support from the Hillsborough Society , a centrist group that attracts and supports political candidates, in his bid for Florida House District 64.

Salazar, a Navy veteran and community advocate, is the current President of the Hillsborough County Democratic Party’s LGBTQ+ Caucus .

“Rarely do we see a candidate so perfectly suited to represent a district,” Hillsborough Society board member Stephen Shaiken said of the group’s support.

The Hillsborough Society touts itself as a truly centrist organization that does not follow one party line.
