Tomball City Council approved three rezoning requests Nov. 17 , clearing the way for new commercial development, future duplex housing and the formalization of a longstanding office use on Zion Road.

The context

Council approved rezoning 2.109 acres at 22700 Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from agricultural to commercial.

The property, made up of two tracts totaling just over two acres, sits along a major corridor and is located within an area the city identifies as suitable for commercial growth, city staff said. The change supports future nonresidential development and aligns with surrounding commercial activity.

Council also approved rezoning 3.140 acres on Medical Complex Drive from agricultural to duplex.
