The Shrek spin-off will air more than a decade after the original animation adventure proved a firm festive favourite
The BBC will screen nine blockbuster premieres over the Christmas period with the line-up led by Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which airs on Boxing Day. BBC bosses are hoping that viewers will tune in for the sequel to the original animated comedy adventure starring Antonio Banderas as the voice of Puss - a cat who is fast running out of lives.
The character of Puss first came to fame in the Shrek movies and landed his own spin-off movie back in 2011. Eleven years on, the action in the follow-up takes place after Shrek Forever After and will be shown on BBC1 . Also being screened on mainstream TV for the first time is Elvis, the 2022 blockbuster biopic from Baz
