FARMINGTON TWP, Ohio - A recount Tuesday morning determined that the Farmington Township Fire Department levy has failed.
It was originally reported that the levy passed by one vote on election night, but it was later found to have tied at 152 votes for the levy and 152 votes against it after one additional provisional vote was counted.
The levy would have cost taxpayers an additional $102 per $100,000 of their appraised property value, and the money generated would have been offset by older levies falling off.
Tuesday morning's recount reaffirmed that the levy had failed.
Other races scheduled to be recounted on Tuesday include Mesopotamia Township Trustees, Liberty Board of Education and Lordstown Council.
