Black Friday is almost here, and shoppers are gearing up to spend big.
U.S. holiday spending is expected to exceed $1 trillion for the first time, according to the National Retail Federation . The average shopper is projected to spend $890 this season, with $628 spent on gifts.
“Black Friday is no longer just a one-day shopping event. This is the entire month of November,” said Amanda Fama, Good Housekeeping’s senior deals and trends editor.
Tariffs are also contributing to higher costs. A recent LendingTree analysis estimates that tariffs could cost shoppers an extra $132 each this year. Even so, Fama says there are still deep discounts to be found — especially in key product categories.
