Saxonburg is kicking off the countdown to Christmas on Black Friday, Nov. 28, with its annual Holiday Parade.

The parade begins at 7 p.m. from the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company carnival ground and will end at the Dollar General store on Main Street.

“It’s pretty much everything that we've done in the past, but it just keeps getting bigger and better every year,” said Joyce Hutterer, who is running the parade again this year after a two-year leave of absence.

The floats will begin lining up at 6 p.m. at the carnival grounds. According to Hutterer, 42 have entered as of Friday, Nov. 21.

As with last year, attendees will be able to vote on their favorite floats by scanning QR codes on signs placed throughout Saxonburg. Cash prizes will be awarded to the groups with the top three floats
