Premier Doug Ford is making good on a promise he made to the family of Andrew Cristillo, a 35-year-old father of three who was killed in a head-on collision this summer.

His government introduced tough new measures to tackle dangerous driving. They include a lifetime driving ban for anyone convicted of dangerous driving causing death and roadside licence suspensions for dangerous driving behaviour.

Cristillo was killed on Aug. 3 after being hit by a driver charged with dangerous driving and stunt driving.

“No family should ever face the heartbreak of losing a loved one or the trauma of a life-changing injury because of a dangerous and careless driver,” said Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria.
