The casino operator who established illegal game rooms in several Central Florida counties, allegedly with help from former Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, has pleaded guilty to his role in the enterprise.

That leaves Lopez as the sole player still facing criminal charges for his role in what authorities called “an extensive gambling enterprise.”

Krishna Deokaran, whose cooperation with investigators and descriptions about the gambling enterprise’s inner workings was critical to securing criminal charges against Lopez and several others, pleaded guilty to a single count of money laundering more than a month after his Oct. 6 arrest. Though that charge carries a five-year prison term, Deokaran’s sentence will be decided at a later date
