Two Coweta men are facing child sexual exploitation charges, according to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Sean Robert McCarthy, 27, of Sharpsburg, was arrested Nov. 19 on three counts of possession of child pornography.

Sgt. Christopher Ricketson, public information officer for the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, said the agency was contacted by the U.S. Secret Service after McCarthy admitted to possessing child sexual abuse material. His booking sheet at the Coweta County Jail lists his employer as the National Guard.

Ricketson said the agency launched an investigation, which led to arrest warrants being issued for McCarthy. Multiple electronic devices were recovered during his arrest at his home.
