OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said that a West Union man remains in jail after being arrested Monday on over 50 counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The sheriff’s office began an investigation on Sept. 26 after a family member and the victim reported that the victim, who is a minor, had been sexually assaulted by 39-year-old Daniel Christopher Harman. The investigation was turned over to a Violent Crimes Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Bureau.

Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, it was determined that Harman had inappropriately touched the victim on multiple occasions between 2018 and 2020.
