Senior dogs are behind an adorable comeback at the 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade .

For the first time in 13 years, the Freida the Dachshund balloon float will be back on the streets of Manhattan on Thanksgiving Day to spread holiday cheer to parade viewers.

The fresh pet food brand, The Farmer's Dog , is behind Freida's renaissance. The company worked with Macy's to bring "senior dog" Freida back for the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 27.

Freida made her debut in the iconic parade in 1949 and has made appearances in the holiday tradition on and off ever since. The Farmer's Dog decided to end Freida's 13-year break from the route, to show that any old dog, with proper care and attention, can have a long, active life.
