Cascade mountain passes including Snoqualmie and Stevens could get up to a foot of snow plus freezing rain through Wednesday morning, making travel “very difficult,” especially on Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service in Seattle said Tuesday.
NWS Seattle issued a winter weather advisory from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Interstate 90’s Snoqualmie Pass could see up to 8 inches of snow, while Highway 2’s Stevens Pass could see up to a foot of snow.
“Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages,” the agency said.
Snowfall could turn into mixed or icy precipitation, NWS Seattle said.
By Wednesday, snow levels will likely rise as the temperature slightly warms through the week, which might mean good news for the thousands of travelers c
