As temperatures get colder during the night in Louisiana, some residents may wake up to find the interior of their car much too cold or frost covering the windows.
Many may decide to start their car to warm it up and then wait inside where it's warm, however, doing so may be considered illegal .
What Louisiana state law says about leaving your car running unattended
In Louisiana, you cannot leave a vehicle running unattended, as the law requires you to stop the motor, lock the ignition, remove the key and set the brake before leaving a vehicle.
