Darlington starred in the latest episode of a prime-time BBC quiz show, with a question including the town as a possible answer.

The County Durham town was mentioned in a question on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, which aired on Saturday, November 22.

The game show sees three contestants attempt to win a fortune by answering questions with the help of seven celebrity experts, one of whom was boxer and reality TV star Tommy Fury, who seemed flummoxed by the reference to the town.

Mr Fury was the expert in the hot seat when the question flashed up for contestant Luke, a pharmacy delivery driver and musician from Southampton.

The question asked: "At full capacity, the Glastonbury festival site has a population roughly equal to which of these UK places?"
