Jerald “Buddy” David Gilland, 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation in Metropolis, Illinois.

Born on January 24, 1931, in Livingston County, Kentucky, to the late Louis and Gladys Salyers Gilland Renfro. Jerald was a man of faith, becoming an elder at Cornerstone Community Church. Jerald also served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, embodying the spirit of courage and commitment. After his military service, Jerald transitioned to working in the insurance field, where his integrity and persuasive communication led him to establish his own agency at one point. Jerald then changed fields and worked for a 20-year tenure at Wilson Camper Sales. Perhaps one of Jerald's most enduring legacies was his role in initiating the
