Tributes have poured in after a well-known West Lothian landlady and businesswoman passed away at the age of 79. Anne Davidson was a prominent figure in the hospitality industry after taking over the Champany Inn near Linlithgow with her late husband Clive, and died peacefully at home on November 18.
They created their restaurant around Scottish produce, building an award-winning rural business . Today, it stands as a fine dining steakhouse with 16 bedrooms, a bistro and wine shop.
Champany became an 'institution' with Anne very much at the helm, with her son Jason now leading today. Affectionately known as "Mrs D", she led her team from the front.
For over forty years she successfully built the 'Champany family' which has included generations of families who have worked with her
