WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - In a 5-2 vote, the Wichita City Council agreed to enter into contract negotiations with Dennis Marstall to be Wichita’s next city manger.
The Wichita City Council met this afternoon to finalize its choice. If Marstall accepts the city’s offer to lead its employees, he’ll replace departing City Manager Robert Layton who announced his retirement this year.
Marstall has been the County Administrator for Lancaster County, South Carolina since 2021. Prior to that he was the Assistant City Manager in Manhattan, Kansas. He also was a Vice-President with United Way and held several positions with the City of Charlotte, North Carolina.
