WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - This week kicks off the busiest travel season of the year. AAA predicts 81.8 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home this Thanksgiving, while TSA expects to screen 18 million air travelers over the next week.
If you’re wondering how busy Eisenhower National Airport is getting, there’s good news. Travelers tell 12 News it hasn’t been busy at all.
“I was concerned it would be a lot more hectic than it has been,” said Allie Igwe, who traveled from Virginia to Wichita to visit family. “We’ll see what it’s like when I have to fly out, but like I said, it’s been non-eventful, and I really appreciate that.”
Other travelers said it’s been smooth sailing, even at larger airports.
