WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita City Council will consider plans for a major entertainment addition to northeast Wichita’s Star Bond district at K-96 and Greenwich.
The third phase, proposed on Tuesday, would create a multi-sport athletic facility in the area and attractions like an ice skating rink, an amphitheater, and a surfing facility. The area generates nearly $12 million annually in tax revenue with attractions like Topgolf.
Major sports and entertainment complex planned
The centerpiece would be an NCAA tennis facility owned and operated by Wichita State University, featuring 12 outdoor courts and six indoor, climate-controlled courts.
