CNN data guru Harry Enten explained the “real reason” behind U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) decision to resign from Congress next year.

Greene, a former loyalist to President Donald Trump, announced on Friday that she would be resigning from her House seat on Jan. 5, 2026. Her decision comes after weeks of clashing with Trump over the government shutdown, foreign policy and health care proposals.

Enten explained on Monday that Trump’s popularity with the Republican Party may be why Greene decided to not run for reelection.

“When you go up against Donald Trump, you’re going up against a buzzsaw because Donald Trump’s endorsement record — it’s hard to find anyone else who beats it,” Enten said.
