AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office delivered groceries and food to several families on Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office selected the families ahead of time, choosing those who had previous interactions with the department and could use assistance.

Before stuffing their stomachs with tasty food, many will stuff and pack the roads this year, traveling to their Thanksgiving destinations.
Sheriff Eugene Brantley said the effort is about taking every available opportunity to help the community.
“It’s very important that we show the community that we’re much more than just law enforcement. We’re here, and we’re able to help people meet their needs and make sure they have a good Thanksgiving,” he said.
