CLEVELAND, Ohio — As Thanksgiving week ushers in one of the year’s heaviest travel periods, Northeast Ohio drivers should prepare for potential delays from several ongoing Ohio Department of Transportation projects.

While major corridors will remain open, lane restrictions, ramp closures and nighttime construction could add to holiday congestion.

Here are a few of the projects to watch out for:

I-77 widening in Summit County

A multiyear project to widen 9.2 miles of Interstate 77 between Ghent Road and the Ohio Turnpike continues through September 2027. The work is split into two segments: Ghent Road to Everett Road and Everett Road to the Turnpike.
