TAMPA, Fla. — Complaints filed with the Justice Department claim that the company that owns Busch Gardens Tampa Bay prohibited people from using "rollator walkers" with seats, a type of mobility aid, in some of its parks, prompting an investigation.
Tuesday afternoon, the DOJ sent a letter to Marc Swanson, CEO of the United Parks & Resorts Inc., the parent company of the parks being investigated.
Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, SeaWorld and Aquatica in Orlando, are under investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) following the allegations.
The investigation aims to determine whether the company and parks violated part of the Americans with Disabilities Act for alleged discrimination against people with disabilities who visited the park.
