HILLSBORO, Texas — One person was killed and a deputy was injured during an officer-involved shooting in Hillsboro on Nov. 24, according to the Hill County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office said deputies conducted a welfare check at an address along Hill County Road 4243 in the early morning of Monday, Nov. 24. While at the front door of the home, the Sheriff's Office said the deputies were "confronted" by the person they were checking on.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the person drew a handgun and pointed it at a uniformed deputy, resulting in the person and the deputy firing their guns.
