APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - An Appleton woman who stabbed her boyfriend to death in 2024 was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday. Samantha Krebs will be eligible for parole in 36 years.

According to the criminal complaint, Krebs told police the victim had stabbed himself. On the night of the killing, the complaint states a witness told investigators they heard Krebs say, “I can’t go back to prison.”

The complaint cited a witness who told authorities they saw Krebs kiss the victim and then leave the scene before police arrived.

During the sentencing hearing Tuesday, the victim’s mother and sister shared impact statements with the judge. His sister spoke about the kind of man her brother was, and his mother shared the heartbreak she relives every day since he was killed.
