Court documents shed new light on alleged assault on former police officer by Reno doctor

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - New court documents are shedding light on the alleged assault on a former police officer by a Reno area doctor.

Just after 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 10, a deputy with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Thomas Creek Road for a report of a suspected drunk driver who had been in an accident and fled the scene.

When the deputy arrived, he found the 88-year-old victim sitting on a curb, injured and bleeding. The deputy also reported seeing Justin Voss and his girlfriend standing in the street around 10 feet away from the victim.

Voss and his girlfriend both refused written statements. Voss’ girlfriend told police they suspected the victim was drunk.
