LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) - Las Vegas’ fifth officer-involved shooting of 2025 happened on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 12:26 p.m., after Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a carjacking at an apartment complex in the 5100 block of Indian River Drive, according to an agency news release.
The victim said the suspect had threatened him with a knife, the release said.
Officers found the suspect near the entrance of the complex and attempted to take him into custody.
A physical altercation between the suspect and two officers occurred, the release said.
During the fight, the suspect produced what officers believed to be a knife, causing an officer to shoot his firearm, according to the release.
The suspect was hit and taken into custody.
