TRUCKEE, Calif. (KOLO) - The remains of 62-year-old Gordon Simons of Truckee were found near Highway 89 South near the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, according to a Truckee Police Facebook post.

Police investigators, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, and Search and Rescue found no immediate indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances, the post said.

Earlier in November, a missing person report for Simons was filed after his family wasn’t able to contact him.

Last week, a search was done at a popular hiking location near the missing person’s Truckee residence.

Upon deployment, SAR K9 Teams found human remains.

For several days, they processed the scene and found no immediate indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances, the post said.
