The Pettis County Health Center has installed and stocked three Narcan vending machines across Sedalia for free public use.
Narcan is a brand of naloxone nasal spray that can reverse the effects of opioid overdose in minutes. The medicine consists of two sprays and is free of charge in these new vending machines.
The initiative was implemented by the Pettis County Health Center, which applied for and received opioid settlement grant funding from the city of Sedalia, according to a news release from the city .
After securing the funding, the health center installed the vending machines and established a plan to keep the machines consistently supplied.
