The owners of a deteriorating downtown Sedalia building are asking a judge to stop the city from moving forward with demolition.
Property owners Dana Melton and Travis Dixon filed a lawsuit in Pettis County Circuit Court on Sunday, seeking judicial review of the Sedalia Board of Appeals’ Oct. 22 order that gave the owners 60 days to repair or demolish the structure at 207 and 209 W. Main St .
The owners are also requesting a court-ordered stay to prevent the city from demolishing the building while the case proceeds.
