WASHINGTON — A George Mason University student was arrested on charges of possessing child pornography.
On November 19, Fairfax Police executed a search warrant in the 10300 block of Beaumont Street. Rahman Mawardy, 19, was arrested for 29 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and taken into custody.
New court documents revealed that Mawardy's Google search tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children back in March. Authorities say he searched "can I get arrested for watching child porn?" He is accused of uploading multiple files of child pornography to his server.
Mawardy was a student at GMU. When the university became aware of his charges, the administration barred him from entering the campus until further notice.
A judge has ordered Mawardy to surrender hi
