NEW JERSEY – The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey estimates that approximately 8.8 million travelers will use its airports and vehicular crossings during the eight-day Thanksgiving travel period that ends Dec. 1.
All travelers, air or road, are encouraged to allow additional travel time or take public transit whenever possible.
The Port Authority anticipates about 3.3 million passengers will travel through JFK, Newark Liberty, and LaGuardia airports during the holiday period. Sunday, Nov. 30, and Monday, Dec. 1, are expected to be the busiest days at the region’s airports.
The Port Authority estimates that approximately 5.5 million vehicles will use its bridges and tunnels over the holiday period, consistent with volume from the same period in 2024. To accommodate the volume
