STOCKTON, Calif. —
The owner of the Stockton 99 Speedway and his wife were seriously hurt in a car crash on Sunday, according to family members.
Danica and Amber Noceti said on the speedway’s Facebook page on Monday that their father Tony Noceti and stepmother Rowena Noceti suffered critical injuries during the crash on Highway 88, just east of Village Drive and required emergency surgery.
The California Highway Patrol reports the head-on collision happened when another driver, a 72-year-old Lafayette man, made an unsafe pass in dense fog. The CHP said the driver entered the Noceti's lane while attempting to pass a vehicle in front of him.
